Gabriela

My name is Gabriela, and I discovered yoga in 2000. During a challenging period in my life, far from home, in a different country, yoga “took me” home. It helped me to centre myself, helped me to stay more focused, helped me to breathe. My body was crying out for help through various health imbalances, and practising yoga helped me to calm down and set priorities.

Since then, it has been a constant discovery. Some moments have illuminated this journey, such as a trip to India where I understood yoga “off the mat”, that is, as a way of being in life. There are also people who have been instrumental in the richness of this learning experience – Joana Cadete and Pedro Kupfer, to whom I am deeply grateful. And, of course, my family, who have supported me unconditionally in the various training courses and classes I have taken.

Since 2019, I have been sharing this way of being with others through practice on the mat, through attentive “observation” of the breath, the movements of the body, the thoughts that arise, and the subtle sensations that all these aspects bring to the heart. For therein lies the core of everything… being able to love and be loved… in truth and tranquillity.
